Home health agencies in El Paso, TX, have adapted to a more common usage of a cell phone application, which allows the provider to clock in and out through their mobile phone while at the client’s home. The mobile application does have its qualities, such as giving provider access to their schedules, tasks, hours, location and updated information. It is because of these modern-day qualities that the mobile method is widely accepted in home health agencies.
Just as the timesheet was phased out, so will the usage of EVV (electronic visit verification) alternative devices until only the mobile method is used. Overall, the goal over this next year is to bring the percentage of EVV (electronic visit verification) alternative devices down by 75% for the 2025, and down an additional 25% per year, until the usage of the EVV (electronic visit verification) device is completed phased out by the year 2028. Proveedoras De Luz Home Health, in El Paso, TX, has already transitioned to primarily use the mobile application as the method to clock in and out from the client’s home. In doing so, we have trained our providers in utilizing the mobile application and welcome additional in-person training to make the transition easier. The mobile application is easier for the providers to use than using an EVV (electronic visit verification) device since there are less steps to complete the clock-in process. We look forward to the new wave of the future of EVV (electric visit verification).
